What's New in Wrath of Heroes?

Patch 0.27 has arrived and another new hero has joined the line-up: Xuq'ls the Gibbering. This Horror of Tzeentch is our first Daemonic Hero. Though he has less hit points then the average hero, his Empowerment makes sure he is not ignored. There is a reason why many who have had the rare chance to see him in action are either mad or dead.
Patch 0.27 also brings us a new free hero rotation. The 4 heroes joining the battles this week are:
  • Durrig the Engineer
  • Korelei the Witch Elf
  • Ozgrot the Savage Orc Shaman
  • Serkhet the Tomb Scorpion

For more information on the changes in Patch 0.27, please see the patch notes.

Game Update 0.27

Patch Changes

New on the Store

  • Xuq'ls the Horror of Tzeentch has been added to the Store.  See the Hero Lineup section for more information.
  • Ornate Chest: This item has been updated with additional contents.
  • Wood Chest: This item has been updated with additional contents.
  • Look for new items to appear on the store periodically!

Hero Lineup

Xuq'ls is here! The first Daemon Hero has arrived to revel in the triumph of chaos over reality.
  • To play successfully as Xuq'ls, you must always be watching for Empowerment and must act quickly to react to it. Empowerment only lasts for a few moments once triggered, so don't let it go to waste!
  • Unstable Servants are potentially the most damaging use of Xuq'ls's Empowerment, but only if the enemy stays near them. If you think that the target is going to be more mobile, use Expel Energy instead.
  • Fire of Tzeentch deals more damage as Xuq'ls loses hit points - towards the end of a close fight, it will become one of Xuq'ls's best burst-damage attacks.

The following Heroes are considered free and available to all during this week:
  • Durrig the Engineer
  • Korelei the Witch Elf
  • Ozgrot the Savage Orc Shaman
  • Serkhet the Tomb Scorpion

Note: Free to play Heroes change on a weekly basis.

The following Heroes are available for purchase on the store:
  • Aessa the White Lion
  • Albodi the Chosen
  • Amenadresh the Liche Priest
  • The Archivist, Chaos Scholar
  • Bax the Black Orc
  • Bonechewer the Ghoul
  • Conrad the Warrior Priest
  • Drulg the Ogre
  • Durrig the Engineer
  • Felicia the Bright Wizard
  • Glowgob the Shaman
  • Ikkrik the Gutter Runner
  • Ilanya the Sorceress
  • Korith the Shadow Warrior
  • Korelei the Witch Elf
  • Nethys the Vampire
  • Olwyn the Ironbreaker
  • Ozgrot the Savage Orc Shaman
  • The Red Duke
  • Rydion the Archmage
  • Serkhet the Tomb Scorpion
  • Volrik the Marauder
  • Wilhelm the Ghoul
  • Xuq'ls the Horror of Tzeentch
  • Zathis the Assassin

Keep an eye out for future additions to the Hero Lineup in weeks to come.

Xuq'ls' Abilities

Xuq'ls is almost here! The first Daemon Hero will revel in the triumph of chaos over reality.
Xuq'ls's Abilities:
Blast – Deals damage.
Fire of Tzeentch – Deals damage and increases chance to grant Empowerment.
Surge of Power – Damage and snare.
Unstable Servant – Creates Minor Horror.
Expel Energy – Damage over time.

Empowerment – Passive: Xuq'ls has a chance to obtain Empowerment for 5 seconds when he uses certain attacks, which is consumed to power his most potent abilities.
Murderer – Passive: You deal 15% more damage to High Elves.
Battle Strategy:

Upcoming Hero: Xuq'ls

'His gibbering will herald the end times.' – Albodi, the Scarred. Xuq'ls will join Wrath of Heroes next week. Take a first look at the new Daemonic Hero.
Xuq'ls Concept Art
Background:
In the far north, there lies a warped and barren wasteland, beyond the habitable areas of the world. Known as the Chaos Wastes, it is inhabited by the followers of the four gods of Chaos, the humans that have wandered too far from their lands and their humanity, and by the Daemonic servants of the gods themselves. It is a land devoid of hope or mercy, and only the suicidal venture there.
The Horror of Tzeentch Xiththlthlhluuq'phakn'ndhppeommn'naehlaebheeowirarthhhabls is one such denizen of these wastes. Known to mortals as Xuq'ls, he has served to spread the power of Tzeentch for centuries. Many believe him to simply be a legend, as very few have seen him and lived, and fewer still are the ones who have retained any grasp on their sanity.
All tales of Xuq'ls are different, with disagreements on his size, strength, and color. However, one part of the tale is consistent. Xuq'ls speaks constantly, both in mortal tongues and the long-forgotten tongues of Chaos, and his gibbering tears at the edges of your sanity. His madness has scarred itself into the mind of all who have faced him.

What's New in Wrath of Heroes?

A new Legendary Hero has joined our line-up: The Red Duke! The legendary vicious vampire count has a unquenchable thirst for blood and is only available for gold. Since our legendary heroes do not like to share anything; including attention, Malus Darkblade will no longer be able to be purchased for gold. However, there is a very rare chance he might pop out of a Ornate chest.
The new Free heroes this week are Bax, Glowgob, Volrik, and the Archivist. Also, Ozgrot will now be available in the store for purchase using gold.
See you in the battles!

The Red Duke's Abilities

The Red Duke's Abilities

Posted by Tim Chappell | 2012 Nov 4 13:37 -0500 GMT

The Red Duke is lurking in the shadows. The legendary hero of the Vampire Counts is out for blood!
The Red Duke's Abilities:
Red Fury – Damage and self healing.
Bloodbane – Sacrifices your hit points to deal high damage, increased against weakened targets.
Blood Frenzy – Sacrifices your hit points to deal high area damage.
Draw Blood – Area damage and self healing.
Shadow's Swiftness – Sprint, and increases dodge chance.
Passive:
The Hunger – Stacking: 15% chance on hit and 100% chance on kill to increase the Red Duke's maximum hit points by 10. Stacks up to 100 times.
Murderer – Passive: You deal more damage to Empire Heroes.

Battle Strategy
  • While he has several powerful abilities with no cooldowns, the Red Duke pays the price in blood - he must sacrifice some of his own hit points to use his potent Bloodblade and Blood Frenzy.
  • The Red Duke's passive effect allows his maximum hit points to get higher and higher. Get enough kills and he'll become a nigh-unstoppable force of death!
  • While Shadow's Swiftness can be used for a speed boost, don't forget that it also grants the Red Duke an almost-certain chance to dodge. Deciding whether to use it early to get into the fight quickly or save it for a close moment later may mean the difference between life and death - or, well, between undeath and death.
